Seward is a nice small town.
Seward is a nice small town. We went during the off season. a lot of things where closed or had limited hours during our trip. We missed out on a few items we would have liked to check out but there was still plenty to do in the area. Recommend a wildlife boat tour, we had a blast and still saw a lot of wildlife so early in the year. The Alaska Sea Life Center is a must see any time.HaarstadUnited States of America - 10Scored 10

Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage,...
Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage, so it took way longer than we had anticipated. It was a cute town and we enjoyed our 8.5 hour glacier cruise. I would definitely take a shorter cruise. Fox Island was a great part of our cruise.

Seward is a charming waterfront town with plenty of good restaurants and things to do. We took two incredible boat tours with Kenai Ford Tours; they were fabulous. There is plenty of hiking, and the city is nestled between mountains. Seward is the kind of place you hate to leave.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Highly recommend coming to take a glacier tour, whale watch, hike or to take children to the aquatic life center. Nice, locally owned galleries and shops with friendly keepers. Easy to get around and can access local parks and walking trails with close by parking.Shari - 10Scored 10

It is obviously a tourist town with the 'big' thing being the boat tours with the Sea Life center being second, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't take back what I saw on my day cruise (Humpbacks, Orcas, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Seals, Holgate Glacier, etc) or at the Sea Life Center for anything (They have touch tanks that are awesome for kids or adults). The restaurants and outside food vendors had delicious food. We were only there for 3 days, but that seemed like the perfect amount of time to be there for anyone that is not going to be doing the more active nature hiking/climbing.

We got in town early and was accommodated asap to check in early. I loved having the full kitchen and the bathroom was spacious. We also definitely appreciated a real coffee pot! However in our opinion the best part about it was the black bear we saw hanging out in the tree outside our room. Close to the Marine Wildlife Center, but a bit far away (to far to walk, especially when it is raining) from the cruise terminal and for the starting point of Kenai Fjord Tours. If you have a car, the perfect place to be. :-) I can highly recommend Trailhead Lodging- Seward.

Rather, we were put in the apartments next store which they manage. The apartments next store are not worth the price. Our unit smelled like mothballs and the heat did not work in the unit. We had to use a space heater.

Compared to the price we paid, I think the hotel should provide better service. The only good thing about this hotel is the laundry inside the facility.
