Seward is a nice small town.

Seward is a nice small town. We went during the off season. a lot of things where closed or had limited hours during our trip. We missed out on a few items we would have liked to check out but there was still plenty to do in the area. Recommend a wildlife boat tour, we had a blast and still saw a lot of wildlife so early in the year. The Alaska Sea Life Center is a must see any time.

Hotel was well situated in a retail area with many options for food, ice cream, coffee and and drinks. The views of the harbor and access to it were great and right out the back door. The complimentary breakfast was good with both hot and cold items.

Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage, so it took way longer than we had anticipated. It was a cute town and we enjoyed our 8.5 hour glacier cruise. I would definitely take a shorter cruise. Fox Island was a great part of our cruise.

Seward is a charming waterfront town with plenty of good restaurants and things to do. We took two incredible boat tours with Kenai Ford Tours; they were fabulous. There is plenty of hiking, and the city is nestled between mountains. Seward is the kind of place you hate to leave.

Highly recommend coming to take a glacier tour, whale watch, hike or to take children to the aquatic life center. Nice, locally owned galleries and shops with friendly keepers. Easy to get around and can access local parks and walking trails with close by parking.

It is obviously a tourist town with the 'big' thing being the boat tours with the Sea Life center being second, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't take back what I saw on my day cruise (Humpbacks, Orcas, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Seals, Holgate Glacier, etc) or at the Sea Life Center for anything (They have touch tanks that are awesome for kids or adults). The restaurants and outside food vendors had delicious food. We were only there for 3 days, but that seemed like the perfect amount of time to be there for anyone that is not going to be doing the more active nature hiking/climbing.

My husband and I just traveled there for our honeymoon and we were extremely pleased with the experience. We got in town early and was accommodated asap to check in early. I loved having the full kitchen and the bathroom was spacious. We also definitely appreciated a real coffee pot! However in our opinion the best part about it was the black bear we saw hanging out in the tree outside our room. We’r from indiana so that was AMAZING for us! 😃Thank you for making our stay comfy and cozy.

Very friendly, personal and comfortable with everything you need. Close to the Marine Wildlife Center, but a bit far away (to far to walk, especially when it is raining) from the cruise terminal and for the starting point of Kenai Fjord Tours. If you have a car, the perfect place to be. :-) I can highly recommend Trailhead Lodging- Seward.

Breakfast was good. The owners of Resurrection Bay were super nice, but we didn't get to stay at their lodge. Rather, we were put in the apartments next store which they manage. The apartments next store are not worth the price. Our unit smelled like mothballs and the heat did not work in the unit. We had to use a space heater.

Location is good, 20 minutes walking to the harbor and a plenty of restaurants near the hotel, but the room is tiny and cheap looking, breakfast is limited frozen food. Compared to the price we paid, I think the hotel should provide better service. The only good thing about this hotel is the laundry inside the facility.

Excellent location. Great view of port. Right on Main Street and access to restaurant and bar across rear of hotel. Free city shuttle stop across street. Soft pillows, thought they were down. Comfortable bed. Front desk gave us great information about shuttle. Harbor trail would have been great except for the weather.

The location was excellent! We were able to walk to restaurants which were very close by. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean! We’ve been to Seward many times and this has been my favorite hotel so far. We haven’t stayed at all hotels but this one had the best location.

We liked the historical value of the hotel, and what really made the whole visit work was George. I hope they are paying him a lot, because he saved the stay with his attitude, resourcefulness and pleasant personality. The location is perfect for walking around Seward.
