  • 14th-century stained glasswork in #ClermontFerrand Cathedral in #Auvergne. Some of these were commissioned by the famous Saint Louis King (King Louis IX), possibly for this son's wedding, the future King Philip III (also called The Bold) to Isabella of Aragon, in 1262. These windows are said to come from the same workshop as those in Sainte-Chapelle in Paris and considered to be amongst the most beautiful stained windows in France. With over 450 windows styled from the 11th-century Roman art to the 20th-century Contemporain, simply walking your way under the high naves of the church is a great way to admire these windows illuminated by the sun. Whether you are a history buff, an art aficionado, or simply enjoy the beautiful architecture, you are in for a treat! . . . . . 🇫🇷 Vitraux du XIVe siècle dans la cathédrale Clermont-Ferrand en Auvergne.
